Fishing at Steve’s can be as simple as a child catching their first fish or as competitive as coworkers trying to out‑fish each other. Families come to catch supper, birthday groups gather at the water’s edge, and experienced anglers try their luck at landing a 30‑pound catfish. It’s an easy place to fish, no matter your age or experience.
Steve’s Fishing & Adventure Farm has two 10‑acre lakes stocked primarily with 1½‑ to 3‑pound catfish for Catch & Keep fishing. Many visitors come to take home fresh fillets, fill the freezer, or just enjoy a quiet afternoon by the pond. For anglers who want a bigger challenge, the smaller, deeper Catch & Release lakes—Lunker Lake and Whopper Waters—hold trophy fish ranging from 10 pounds to well over 30, including tagged prize fish.
You’re welcome to bring your own bait and tackle, or you can rent a pole and buy bait when you arrive. If you’re keeping fish, Steve’s crew can clean your catch quickly so you can head home with ready‑to‑cook fillets. Many guests pick up Superior fish breading, Maria’s blackening seasoning, and fresh produce from the market to round out a full family meal.
Fishing at Steve’s is also a great fit for kids and school groups. It doesn’t require a boat, expensive gear, or years of practice—just a pole, some bait, and a little patience. Kids can fish during field trips, birthday parties, or our Kid’s Reel Classics tournaments. Adults have their own tournaments too, held at least twice a year.
Groups of all kinds—company outings, church groups, teams, birthday parties—can reserve the pond‑side picnic pavilion along with a stretch of nearby bank. Outings can be Catch & Keep, Catch & Release, or a mix of both. If your group wants an educational component, Steve or Ryan can give an Edusplainment: a short, age‑appropriate talk about fishing‑pole operation, fish culture, aeration, algae, oxygen cycles, and how a fishing pond is managed. Students get to hear the explanation, see the pond system up close, and then put a line in the water themselves. Reserve your group outing with our events manager Stefanie.
Whether you’re after supper, chasing a trophy, introducing a child to fishing, or planning a group day outdoors, there’s a pond waiting for you at Steve’s.
